ARISE Plus Cambodia and the Ministry of Commerce will organize a two-day Dissemination Workshop on "Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Potential Study and Trade Analysis Handbook" in a hybrid manner from 8th to 9th September 2022. The workshop aims to present the methodology and findings of an FTA potential study, in view of assessing the trade potential and barriers to access promising markets, as well as helping priorities and sequence Cambodia's negotiation strategy over the next decade (until 2030).
Day 1 of the workshop is aimed at general audience, with a focus on the findings of the FTA Potential Study. This workshop will first present a summary of the analytical results. Following on this, the workshop will dedicate a session for feedback on the findings, as well as discussion on the implications of the findings and strategy for future negotiations.
Day 2 of the workshop is geared towards more technical experts in trade analysis, who are involved in supporting the preparation for trade negotiations. The first half of the training day, the workshop will discuss the methodological approach used in the FTA potential analysis and introduction to data sets with regard to market access and non-market access commitment analysis of the potential trade partners. In the second half, the workshop will provide an introduction to the projection of baseline data into the future, models used for quantitative modelling, with additional checks and calibration done by the Expert Team to ensure the accuracy and validity of the results.
